A new visa which is so-called ‘The Golden Ticket’ was announced by the Australian government to let wealthy foreigners become permanent residents in Australia.
Applicants for this visa scheme should have at least AUD$5 million (S$6.4 million) that must be invested in certain assets in Australia. Also, holders of the ‘Golden Ticket’ must stay in Australia 40 days a year for four years.
Passing the English language test is not a requirement for this visa scheme and an applicant can be of any age, regardless of educational qualifications and business skills.
